Spring is symbolically a time of fresh starts and rebirth. With the trees now coming into flower and the lambs in the fields, it is nature’s prompt to give your health a seasonal makeover too. Time for a Spring Clean! We clean out our closets, wash our walls, freshen up our flower beds… But what about doing some spring cleaning for our bodies too. Here are our tips:
1. Juice Cleanse – According to Ayurveda, it is important to detox the body periodically. We typically advise cleansing with the seasons so now is the perfect time as we come into spring. It’s always much nicer and easier to cleanse when the weather is good too as you will naturally feel a little cold on a cleanse. A cleanse is an incredible way to hit the reset button and to forge new habits and mindsets as we come into summer.
2. Tech detox – Technology and social media is a double-edged sword, on one hand, it keeps us updated, connected, and is a valuable source of information. On the other hand, it can be a massive cause for anxiety and comparison. Seeing as no one is really up to much right now we urge you to have a few days ‘offline’. It can do wonders for your mind.
3. Journaling – This is a new habit but it’s really been one of the best changes I have chosen to implement this spring. It’s an amazing tool for clarity of mind and stress release. Having everything written down can help so much with your mental attitude and to get you really clear on your goals.
4. Workout challenge – Many people have taken up working out in isolation as we certainly have the time on our hands! I personally find it easier to work toward something and have an end goal in mind so I am currently halfway through a 6-week yoga challenge. I love tracking my progress and monitoring how far I’ve come in such a short space of time.
